China Remains The Most Important Anti-Dumping Target

Statistics from the World Trade Organization pointed out that in the second half of last year, the new anti-dumping investigations and final measures initiated by Member States were aimed at China.

The Secretariat of the WTO pointed out that, according to the information of Member States, one hundred and one new anti-dumping investigations were conducted in July and December from 2007 to July, which was seven percent lower than that in the same period of the previous year. The new measures for the final collection of anti-dumping duties dropped from sixty-six to fifty-eight, reducing by twelve percent.

In the one hundred and one new anti-dumping investigations conducted in the second half of last year, China accounted for forty pieces of export products, an increase over the same period of the previous year.

South Korea and Thailand tied for second targets, eight in each, six in the European Union, five in Malaysia and four in the United States.

There are two items for Taiwan products.

On the side of the new survey, India has the largest number of thirty-one, twenty-four in the United States, ten in Korea, nine in the European Union and eight in Brazil.

Taiwan and China did not launch a new survey in the second half of last year.

The most anti-dumping investigations were made by machine and equipment, including twenty-three chemicals, eighteen chemicals and eleven textiles.

The measures to levy anti-dumping duties were also investigated and identified. The period was also the largest in China, with a total of twenty-six pieces, more than 4 per cent over the same period last year.

Taiwan, Japan, South Korea and Singapore all share four goals in second.

In the second half of last year, the largest number of new anti-dumping measures were launched in India, a total of sixteen units, two times the same period in the same period of the previous year.

There are eight in Brazil, seven in China and EU, four in Columbia, three in Argentina, New Zealand, Turkey and the United States.
