Li Quanan, President of Vietnam's national textile and Garment Group, said that in 2010, Vietnam's clothing exports will grow by 15% to 20 billion dollars in 2020.

When he met with African cotton producers in Hanoi in May 8th, Li Quanan said there were 2 million workers in Vietnam's clothing industry and Vietnam in the top 10 garment exporters.

In addition, in the past year, the Vietnamese garment industry exported foreign currency to US $9 billion.

Parts of Vietnam are very suitable for planting cotton, but these areas can only meet 10% of the national demand.

This year, Vietnam imported 92000 tons of cotton in the first quarter, and imported 300000 tons of cotton last year.

Africa, India and the United States are Vietnam's main cotton suppliers, and Africa's cotton accounts for about 50% of Vietnam's imports.

Vietnam's cotton demand may reach 1 million tons / year, so Vietnam is looking for and purchasing high-quality cotton in other markets.
