Advocating Green Environmental Protection, More Than 80% Chinese Families Advocate Green Consumption.

The survey report on the construction of harmonious families in China released by the all China Women's Federation on 15 May shows that Chinese urban and rural families advocate green environmental protection and take an active part in energy conservation, carbon reduction and environmental protection.

According to the survey, more than 80% of families (82%) advocate "loving family and green consumption to create a good environment". In daily life, the proportion of households that practise water saving, electricity saving, garbage sorting, buying environmental protection appliances, eating green organic food, using plastic bags less and using phosphorus free washing powder are 88.2%, 50%, 34.9%, 39.8%, 45.8%, 43.3% and 36.3% respectively, and 60% families are willing to become "environmental protection volunteers".

According to the survey report, all these indicate that the concept of energy conservation, emission reduction and low-carbon environmental protection has gradually deepened into the family and become a conscious pursuit of family life and consumption.

It is understood that "the survey on the status of the construction of a harmonious family in China" was organized by the Propaganda Department of the all China Women's Federation from October 2009 to April 2010. The survey was conducted in 10 provinces and municipalities in Beijing, Guangdong, Shandong, Zhejiang, Henan, Heilongjiang, Hubei, Guizhou, Inner Mongolia and Ningxia.
