Price Rise: Zhang ZhigangNational Bureau Of Statistics

China's National Bureau of Statistics spokesman Sheng Lai Yun said in Beijing 28 days that the pressure of China's rising prices is still large, and the uncertainty and complexity of economic operation is increasing.

He made the above remarks at the 2010 China Business Development Forum.

In April, China's CPI (consumer price) rose 2.8%, an increase of 0.4 percentage points from last month.

Sheng Lai Yun pointed out that the pressure of rising prices comes from liquidity, the large price increase of international bulk producer goods, and the factors of tail up.

Last year, the low price rise in China was low in the second quarter and before the price trend.

At present, the influence of the tail factor is expanding and increasing the price pressure.

The uncertainties and complexity of the economic operation described by Sheng Lai Yun mainly include the slow recovery of world economy and the continuous growth of external demand. The domestic high energy consuming industry is recovering too fast, and the pressure of energy saving and emission reduction is relatively large.

In addition, the pressure of RMB appreciation is also greater.

He also worries that the Greek debt crisis will affect China's exports to Europe.

On the 28 day of the 2010 China business development forum, Yu Yongding, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, expressed concern about inflation and exports to Europe.

Yu Yongding was a member of the monetary policy committee of the people's Bank of China.

He said that the current situation of foreign trade orders received by Chinese enterprises is not bad, but next may be dragged down by the Greek debt crisis.

Yu Yongding, who expressed serious concern about price rises, believes that low interest rates and even negative interest rates are not conducive to economic restructuring. Credit is still loose, and there is little possibility of monetary policy and central bank raising interest rates.

Apart from price and export, Sheng Lai Yun and Yu Yongding believe that China's domestic demand will grow steadily this year.

From 1 to April, China's total retail sales of social consumer goods increased by 18.1% over the same period last year.

Yu Yongding estimated that consumption will contribute more than four percentage points to economic growth.

A positive attitude towards consumption growth is also Zhang Zhigang, President of the China Federation of Commerce.

He hopes to speed up the modernization of China's commerce and circulation industry, and hope that China's retailers will grow into a global business giant like WAL-MART.

Zhang Zhigang served as vice minister of Commerce of China.

Zhang Zhigang also frankly stated that China is far less than the United States in terms of total consumption and per capita consumption.

Compared with the developed countries in Europe and the United States, China's service industry accounts for a relatively low proportion of GDP. The low consumption level and weak consumption capacity of Chinese residents have exacerbated overcapacity to some extent.
