China Grants Zero Tariff Treatment To East Timor

According to the relevant exchange rules of the governments of China and East Timor, the Chinese government will gradually give Exit Tariff free treatment for 95% products originating in East Timor will be tariff free for 60% of the products in 2010. Since July 1, 2010, China has implemented the zero tariff treatment measures for 4762 kinds of goods exported to China from 33 least developed countries such as East Timor. Above Zero tariff Commodity tax accounts for 60% of the total tariff items. The 4762 zero tariff commodities include poultry, aquatic products, raw or processed agricultural products, mineral products, medicinal materials, daily necessities, plastic products, leather, timber, textiles, clothing, finished products, glass products, steel and their products, mechanical and electrical products, household appliances, and so on. Most of them are commodities with actual export or potential export capacity in the least developed countries in recent years.

With the formal implementation of tariff free measures, Timor-Leste Many commodities in the future will enter the Chinese market with zero tariff, providing good opportunities for economic development in the East, bringing benefits to the East people, and will also help reduce the cost of Chinese enterprises' imports, widen the channels of imports, promote the sustained and healthy development of bilateral trade, and further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation and friendly relations between China and East Timor.
