ASEAN Becomes The Main Market Of Footwear Import And Export In Guangdong

Today, we learned from the Shantou customs that in the first half of the year, the value of foreign trade and import and export of Chaozhou, Guangdong, was 1 billion 650 million US dollars, an increase of 42.6% over the same period last year.

Among them, exports amounted to 1 billion 20 million US dollars, an increase of 29.5%, and imports of US $630 million, an increase of 70.3%.

ASEAN has become the main import and export market in the city.


According to reports, the main export markets of Chaozhou in the first half of the year are the European Union, the United States, ASEAN and Hongkong. The main source of imports is ASEAN, Australia and Columbia.

Among them, the export of the city's enterprises to ASEAN reached US $87 million 370 thousand, an increase of 19.1% over the same period last year. During the same period, the city's import from ASEAN reached US $230 million, an increase of 1.8 times compared with the same period last year.


As China's capital of porcelain, Chaozhou exported ceramics to US $400 million in the first half of this year, up by 22.1% over the same period last year.

The other main export commodities are electromechanical products, clothing and footwear. The total exports accounted for 77% of the total export value of the city in the same period.

The main imports are coal and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The total imports accounted for 87% of the total import value of the city in the same period.


In the first half of this year, Chaozhou's foreign trade economy has achieved fairly good growth, of which the export volume of the city in June was about 200 million US dollars, creating a historical high of export in a single month.

Among them, the import and export of private enterprises in the city reached 1 billion 30 million US dollars, an increase of 76.2% over the same period last year, accounting for 62.4% of the total import and export value of the city in the same period. The foreign invested enterprises achieved an import and export value of US $560 million, an increase of 4.6% over the same period last year, accounting for 34.2% of the total import and export value of the city in the same period.


According to data analysis, in the first half of this year, the import and export mode of the city was still mainly imported and exported by general trade mode, with an import and export 1 billion 500 million US dollars, an increase of 54.2% over the same period last year, accounting for 91.2% of the total import and export value of the city in the same period, and 90 million 920 thousand US dollars in processing trade import and export, an increase of 7.5% over the same period last year.


As a famous hometown of overseas Chinese, Chaozhou is a famous historical and cultural city in China. It is also a famous city of Chinese porcelain capital and Chinese wedding dress.

In recent years, Chaozhou has made great efforts to develop special industries and actively integrate into the Pearl River Delta and the Haixi Economic Zone. Last year, the total value of foreign trade and import and export in Guangdong reached more than 2 billion 700 million US dollars, an increase of 24.9%, ranking the first in the province.
