World Pollution Situation

Cotton fiber Testing is sure. cotton An important means of rating is also priced. standard The source is also an important basis for processing selection of cotton spinning and weaving industry. The quality of cotton fiber directly restricts the development of textile processing industry. Therefore, cotton production and processing enterprises all over the world use the most advanced technology in the world to strictly check domestic or imported cotton.

However, in today's environment, pollution is becoming more and more serious. The degree of pollution has even become an important index for determining the quality of cotton fiber. The degree of contamination of raw cotton determines its basic properties. Even small cotton can reduce the whole batch of cotton fiber products to a grade. According to the International Federation of textile manufacturers, as the pollutants become more and more complex, the detection methods are becoming more and more innovative. Meanwhile, the methods of pollution elimination have begun to emerge, but they have not prevented the decline of the quality of the world's cotton fibers. Despite the recent improvement in cotton fiber technology, impurities, viscosity and seed shard in raw cotton are still a difficult problem, which is bothering the world's cotton textile industry. This concluding statement comes from the cotton fiber pollution survey launched in 2009 by ITMF s.

ITMF launches cotton fiber pollution investigation every other year. Last year was the eleventh survey since the new survey method was adopted in 1989. The survey report is quite representative. It involves 110 textile mills in 23 countries, and has evaluated 63 different cotton growth.

The following is a summary of ITMF's survey: pollution level has not changed compared with 2007; compared with 2007 survey, this shows that the proportion of cotton pollution has not changed, and remains at around 22%. Through further investigation, it was found that the contamination of cotton fiber was as follows, about 6% of all cotton were seriously contaminated by impurities, and about 16% were slightly contaminated. As the result shows that the data are taken from the average number of pollutants, the specific pollution level should be based on the results of individual pollutants. In the process of cotton processing, "organic matter" pollute them, of which tar constitutes the main pollution, the ratio is 4%~42% (2007:5%), and other organic pollutants are fallen leaves, feathers, paper, leather and so on. (2007:40%) other substances which constitute serious pollution include packing sacks, such as "jute fiber thread" (32%), "plastic braided line" (29%), "cotton textile" and "plastic membrane fabric" and "cotton thread" (26%). The most polluted cotton species were found in India, Pakistan, Egypt, Uzbekistan and Mali, according to the survey. In contrast, the raw cotton from the United States (Texas highland plain, Memphis, Pima, southeastern regions, California), Israel, Australia, Brazil and Ivory Coast is relatively pure.

"Viscosity is the lowest record," according to the survey of the spinning mill, the viscosity of raw cotton decreased to 16% in 2009, the lowest recorded, compared to 21% in 2007. However, the high viscosity of cotton fibers remains a major challenge for the textile industry. According to the survey, cotton with the highest viscosity is produced in Burkina Faso, Benin Bay, Brazil, Chad and Uzbekistan (middle velvet). At the same time, from the United States, such as the United States, cotton, Israel, Pima cotton, Mali or Tajikistan (middle velvet) and other cotton have varying degrees of sticky problem. On the other hand, the viscidity of raw cotton from Greece, the United States (California, southeastern regions), Australia, Africa, Nigeria, Pakistan and India is very low or unaffected.

However, the rate of broken seed of the world's lint has reached a new low since 1991. According to the investigation of cotton fiber pollution in 2009, there is a problem of lint seed broken in cotton fibers. This is still a difficult problem facing the world's spinning industry. About 31% cotton fiber processing industry has encountered such problems. But this test found that since 1991, the percentage of broken seed rate of the seed cotton was the lowest. The most serious cotton seed breaking rate was produced in Nigeria, India, the United States (southeastern region), Uzbekistan (middle velvet), Tajikistan (middle velvet), Burkina Faso and Syria. In Australia, Benin, India, Pakistan and the United States (California, Texas plateau plain) and other places, the seed percentage of lint cotton is very small.

China is not only a large cotton producing country, but also a large textile country. China's cotton spinning capacity exceeding 60 million spindles is also directly restricted by the quality of cotton. This restriction will inevitably affect the quality of cotton yarn, cotton cloth and other products, and even the economic benefits of the industry. In the past few years, the problem of cotton (especially cotton quality) has caused a great impact on the healthy growth of the cotton textile industry, which has brought great difficulties to the progress of the industry.

To solve this problem, China should solve the technical problems related to detection as soon as possible, and set up monitoring standards that conform to China's national conditions and comply with international needs.
