Shihezi Makes Great Efforts To Build Textile Industry Base

So far, the Shihezi cotton textile industry association, named "China's famous cotton textile city", has nearly 3 million spindles of cotton spinning and weaving spindles, which have been put into operation and are being built, and become the largest cotton textile industrial base in the Midwest of China.

In recent years, Shihezi has focused on creating the "cotton textile industrial base in Western China", highlighting the characteristics of cotton textile industry, and taking full advantage of its resources, taking the open development zone as the platform, the project driven as the support and attracting investment as the main body, has promoted the sustained and rapid development of the cotton textile industry in accordance with the development thinking of "cultivating the leading industry, expanding the scale, extending the chain, optimizing the structure and upgrading the level".

In particular, the new round of aid this year provided a rare historical opportunity for Shihezi to develop the cotton textile industry. The Shihezi municipal Party committee put forward a new target: by 2015, the scale of the spindle will reach more than 4 million spindles, and the loom will reach 13 thousand units.

Shihezi has successively introduced a number of well-known textile enterprises such as Jiangsu Huafang group, Zhejiang Xiong Feng Group, Hongsheng group, Huafu group, Shandong Ruyi group and Saudi Arabia argillan group and settled in the development zone.

Among them, Xinjiang Tiansheng Industrial Co., Ltd., invested by Zhejiang Xiong Feng Group, already has 440 thousand spindles of ring spinning and 3380 heads of air spinning. It is estimated that by the end of this year, the scale of ring spinning will reach 840 thousand spindles and 14 thousand air streams. It will become the largest cotton textile enterprise with higher equipment level and better efficiency in the Midwest of China.

At present, there are 10 large and medium-sized cotton textile enterprises in Shihezi, with 652 thousand and 400 spindles of ring spinning, an increase of 20.7 times than that in 2000, with an average annual increase of 40.8%. It is expected to reach 1 million 550 thousand ingots by the end of this year, and 6600 of them will increase by 3.1 times, with an average annual increase of 17%, and it is expected to reach 21 thousand by the end of this year.

By the end of this year, Shihezi will produce an annual production capacity of 200 thousand tons of cotton yarn, 8 million meters of household textiles, 20 million meters of yarn dyed shirt fabrics, 8300 tons of towels and 20 million meters of clothing fabrics.
