Yesterday, reporters from Shenzhen inspection and Quarantine Bureau was informed that recently the EU issued a resolution to decide the expired EU.

The ban continued for another year until March 15, 2012, the second time the EU extended the ban.
Footwear products exported to the EU will be affected, and shoes exported to Europe still need to be mildew proof.
DMF is the chemical name of fumaric acid two methyl ester. It is a chemical mildew inhibitor which is widely used in the sterilization and anti mildew treatment of leather, footwear, sofa and other light textile products.
According to the statistical data of the EU RAPEX notification system, 140 footwear products were announced in 2009 and 2010, of which 110 were due to the excessive content of two methyl esters of fumaric acid, which accounted for 78.6%. Therefore, it is obvious that the hidden danger of European footwear products still exists, which is also an important reason for the EU to postpone the DMF ban.

Enterprises: first, we should not relax the monitoring of the content of two methyl fumarate in the mould inhibitor. When the supply contract is signed with the raw material suppliers, the content of the methyl ester of fumaric acid should be included in the scope of the contract monitoring. If necessary, the supplier should provide the relevant proof that the two methyl ester of fumaric acid does not contain.
Two, the monitoring of methyl esters of fumaric acid should be included in the normalization management. In the daily production process, desiccant and mould inhibitor should be sent to the sample for testing to ensure that the product meets the requirements of the directive.
Three, we should use environmentally-friendly desiccant and mildew preventive agents, or adopt better methods of physical mildew prevention, such as using environmental mildew proof paper and mould proof bags to combat microbiological hazards.
