In the context of slowing global economic growth, Indonesian textile manufacturers expect that textile exports will continue to grow in 2009.

API said that China's technology and labor cost price increase has provided Indonesia with better opportunities to seize world market share.

In 2008, Indonesia's textile exports grew 7.45% from expected to 2 million 10 thousand tons, and export value soared 8.33% to 10 billion 840 million dollars.

The export of traditional markets to the United States, Europe and Japan is expected to decrease, but exports to other markets may continue to grow, such as Kampuchea, Laos, Hongkong, Taiwan, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia and Philippines.
