Uzbekistan'S Cotton Exports Will Increase Slightly In The Next Year

Although the global economic crisis and global cotton consumption have decreased in recent five or six years, the government of Uzbekistan has formulated the textile industry development plan. The cotton consumption in Uzbekistan this year is estimated to be 337 thousand tons, and the cotton consumption in the next year is expected to increase to 348 thousand tons.

According to the government's plan, the cotton consumption in the country will increase by 70% by 2020.

Cotton exports in Uzbekistan are expected to be 588 thousand tons in 2014/15, and the official forecast for USDA is 500 thousand tons.

Cotton exports in 2015/16 are expected to increase slightly to 598 thousand tons.

Cotton planting in 2015/16 has been launched in the early April. If weather is suitable, it is expected to end in late April.
