Among them, the cotton area in the the Yellow River River Basin decreased by 182 thousand and 900 hectares (2 million 744 thousand mu), a decrease of 14.8%; the per unit area yield decreased by 30.5 kg (2.03 kg / mu) per hectare, and decreased by 2.8%; the total output decreased by 231 thousand tons, and decreased by 17.2%. The cotton area in the Yangtze River Basin decreased by 170 thousand and 500 hectares (2 million 558 thousand mu), and decreased by 17.8%. However, the per unit area yield increased by 63.3 kg (4.2 kg / mu) per hectare and increased by 5.8%, resulting in a reduction of 136 thousand tons in total production and a decrease of 13.1%.
