Italy luxury group Prada (Prada) announced that from the spring and summer 2020 series, all its brands, including Prada, Miu Miu, Church 's and Car Shoe, stopped producing and designing fur products.

The fur products produced will continue to be sold until they are sold out.

Last year, Fur Free Alliance (zero fur alliance) had put pressure on Prada and hoped that Prada would join the zero fur camp. Prada expressed her willingness to discuss.

According to reports, the American Humane Association and Italy animal protection organization LAV played an important role in Prada's decision.

Prada creative director Miuccia Prada said Prada will develop sustainable materials as a substitute for fur: "Prada group has always advocated design innovation and take the initiative to shoulder social responsibilities. Joining the zero fur camp is not only ethical, but also conducive to promoting material innovation and exploring new design areas."

The zero fur alliance has more than 50 members of animal protection organizations in 40 countries around the world. The chairman of the alliance, Joh Vinding, is very appreciant of Prada's move. He said, "Prada group and its brand have joined our camp, which is what consumers like to see."

"PJ is one of the most famous fashion brands in the world. This announcement of joining the zero fur camp means that it will become a pioneer in animal protection and innovative design," said PJ Smith, director of fashion policy at the Humane Society of the United States.

According to the International Humanitarianism Association, the fashionable and luxurious brands that have joined the zero fur camp are Burberry (Bo Baili), Armani (Armani), Versace (Versace), Gucci (Gucci), Chanel (Chanel), Coach (Kou Chi), Donna Karan (Donna Karen), Michael Kors (Mike Gao Shi), Jimmy Choo, Diane vonFurstenberg (Diane vonFurstenberg), Kwan (fura), and Kun (Bao butterfly family).

PETA (animal friendly) said that although the measure is commendable, they hope Prada will no longer use rare leather like Chanel (Chanel), such as crocodile skin, lizard skin and snake skin, as well as Chanel.

Consumers want animals to be treated well and do not want to see animals being struck and killed.

However, some environmentalists point out that artificial leather is not friendly to the environment.

Many artificial leather is made of polyester fiber and micro plastic. Compared with pure natural fur, it will cause greater harm to the environment.

Mark Oaten, chief executive of the International Fur Federation, said: "such a fashion brand focused on producing sustainable products will choose to give up the use of natural materials.

Now Prada users have to buy Artificial fur, which is harmful to the environment.

I think Prada should think twice.

Give decisions to consumers and let them decide whether to buy or not.
