According to the data released by the General Administration of Customs on January 14, the export of textile and clothing continued to grow in December, driven by the increasing demand in the international market and the promotion of the double festival.

In 2021, the export volume of textiles and clothing exceeded 310 billion US dollars, surpassing that of 2014 and reaching a record high. In 2021, under the influence of various adverse factors, such as the repeated aggravation of the epidemic situation, supply constraints, sea freight hikes, RMB appreciation and other adverse factors, exports are driven by strong demand, rising prices, and order backflow, achieving "beyond expectations" growth, and handing over a satisfactory report card, which fully demonstrates the strong resilience and flexibility of China's textile and garment industry and foreign trade export enterprises.

Textile and clothing exports are calculated in RMB:

From January to December 2021, the cumulative export of textile and clothing was 2038.43 billion yuan, an increase of 0.88% over the same period of last year (the same below), and an increase of 8.83% over the same period of 2019, including 938.43 billion yuan of textile exports, a decrease of 12.2%, an increase of 13.29% over the same period of 2019, and an increase of 15.6% over the same period of 2019, and an increase of 5.29% over the same period of 2019.

In December, the export of textile and clothing was 193.23 billion yuan, up 11.91%, 5.10% month on month, 10.22% higher than that in the same period of 2019, including 91.36 billion yuan of textile export, 12.73% growth, 7.51% month on month growth, 18.13% growth compared with the same period in 2019, and 101.87 billion yuan in clothing export, with an increase of 11.18%, 3.03% on a month on month basis and 3.97% over the same period in 2019.

Textile and clothing exports are calculated in US dollars:

From January to December 2021, the cumulative export of textile and clothing was 315.466 billion US dollars, an increase of 8.38%, an increase of 16.17% compared with that of 2019, of which the textile export was 145.203 billion US dollars, a decrease of 5.6%, an increase of 20.80% over 2019, and a clothing export of 170.263 billion US dollars, an increase of 24.0%, and an increase of 12.48% compared with that of 2019.

In December, textile and clothing exports increased by 15.30% to US $30.211 billion, up 5.42% month on month and 21.07% compared with the same period in 2019. Among them, textile export increased by 16.21% to USD 14.284 billion, increased by 7.84% month on month, increased by 29.78% compared with the same period in 2019, clothing export increased by 14.50% to USD 15.927 billion, increased by 3.33% month on month, and increased by 14.19% compared with the same period in 2019.
