Young People Are Keen On Discount.

The Australian Y generation (Generation Y) is the 18-24 year old consumer group.

Spending is delayed until the stores are cleared. They are keen on discount.

But studies show that they are

entertainment

Consumption remains unchanged.


A study by ANRA, an Australian National Retail Association, shows that 18-24 year old young people think that finding a cheaper retailer is more important than brand loyalty.


In the interview with the herald, ANRA chief executive Margy Osmond said: "when the sales season is not normally promoted, the Y generation will not buy things."


"We see a younger generation of Neo conservatism.

Because the situation over the past year has been very bad, which has shaken the confidence of these young people.

Now they think big discounts are a common thing. "


Margy Osmond also said that if the Australian election is unclear, it will continue to shake the confidence of young people. This consumption trend will also further deepen, which will lead to more retailers losing money.


The study, conducted jointly by ANRA and American Express, found that 53% of the Y generation shifted their consumption to June discount.
