Qualcomm

(Qualcomm) was selected as the champion of the ten largest innovation companies in the United States.

Microsoft Corp

Ranked second.

Based on the data from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the top 50 companies with the highest number of patent applications were selected based on the size and annual growth rate of R & D expenditure from 2009 to 2010.

The sales growth, industry status, share price and financial performance of the company are also within the scope of the changes in R & D expenditure over the past two years.

Qualcomm mainly manufactures handheld device chips, manufacturing and R & D are all industry leaders. Last year, they applied for 1280 patents, but their popularity was low.

Qualcomm has heavily patented NOKIA, Nokia and Broadcom. Last year, even in the face of the financial crisis, the R & D expenditure was greatly increased.

Microsoft ranked the second time.

Microsoft's products and services are diversified, and its technology budget is among the best among its peers, and invested heavily in R & D last year.

Many of Microsoft's departments rely on intellectual property rights, such as search engine development, Windows operating system upgrade and so on.

Third, P&G, less than 10% of R & D spending last year. Most of the patents applied are fragrance or family or personal care products.

There are more than 55 thousand kinds of 3M products. The scope of patent application includes adhesive tape holder and hydrophilic breathable substrate.

Baker Hughes, an oil field service provider, ranks eighth. Patents mainly collect and distribute oil well data technology, and image technology and related software and hardware for drilling and controlling oil wells. Beck Hughes,

The world's largest group Ge Corp (GE) and Corelle (Corning), the largest LCD substrate manufacturer, took the nine and tenth respectively.
