By 80s and 90s, the development of silk and linen textile industry in Jincheng has entered the peak period. The main products are silk, hemp blended fabrics, home textiles and garments.
The main brands include Chinese famous brand products, "oasis" hemp, Shanxi famous brand products, "Sen goose" knitted underwear, and Shanxi famous brand "Jill lier" dress, "Jinshi weaving" and "red Ping" dress.
In 2011, the annual output of yarn, cloth and clothing of the above scale enterprises in the city was 3846 tons, 7 million 60 thousand meters and 2 million 490 thousand pieces respectively. The total sales income was 359 million 800 thousand yuan, the profit and tax was 22 million 250 thousand yuan, and the profit was 4 million 380 thousand yuan, accounting for 0.29%, 0.81% and 0.24% of the city's scale enterprises.

However, at present, the wage and welfare benefits of the whole industry are generally lower than those of coal, electricity, chemical, foundry and other resource industries.

Third, the industrial chain is imperfect.
The silk and linen textile industry chain is a typical chain of three industries. The upper alliance agriculture, farmers, lower Union three produce and service, have a strong driving force in booming the market, expanding exports, absorbing employment, increasing farmers' income and narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas.
Jincheng silk and hemp production enterprises are mainly concentrated on the intermediate links, most of which are intermediate products, and lack of raw materials for planting, breeding and high value-added design, creativity, packaging, planning and so on. They do not form a complete industrial chain with industry linked agriculture, industry and trade integration operation. The supporting capability of cooperation is relatively low. The products are similar in variety and low in technology. Facing the same customer base, the phenomenon of low price competition is more serious.
The profit margins of enterprises are greatly constrained by raw material supply and product sales, and the rolling development depends on their own strength, which is not conducive to the industry becoming bigger and stronger.
Fifth, the level of equipment is relatively low.
Due to factors such as low efficiency and lack of talent, in recent years, the investment in technical pformation of Jincheng silk textile industry is obviously insufficient, and the introduction and application of new technology, new technology and new equipment lag far behind the southern enterprises.
Backward equipment directly leads to small capacity, high energy consumption, low grade of products, low added value, low level of enterprise profitability, and lack of development potential.
